		The Government established the college in 1951 and since Maharaja Lukhdhirji of Morbi donated his palace to the college, the Institute was named after him. The college is situated on the bank of river Machhu, in Morbi, L. E. College campus boasts of a palatial building, workshops, a swimming pool, a badminton court and a vast expanse of a sports field and boys and girls hostels. With these, it occupies the position of pride of having one of BIGGEST TECHNICAL EDUCATIONAL CAMPUS in Gujarat state.


Apart from the three basic faculties of Civil, Mechanical & Electrical Engineering, the era of Specialization courses had dawned in 1972 when the college started the faculty of Production Engineering. Also the following courses are there in the college at present : (1) Power Electronics (2) Information Technology (3) Industrial Engineering (4) Diploma in ceramic Engineering (5) Diploma in three basic faculties


Till now, more than 10,000 students have passed out of the college from varous Degree, Diploma & Certificate Courses. This in the HIGHEST NUMER as Compared to any other technical institution of the state. Engineers Graduated from this institution, today, occupy places of pride in the industrial fields like the P.W.D., G.E.B., Public & Private sectors & the Armed Forces. In the educational field, the institution has produced Professors, Directors of Technical Education, Chairman of Technical Examination Board, Advisors in Dept. of science & Technology and vice chancellors of universities.

Aims


Over and above all, the prime aim of the association is to bring together all the past students who have been integral parts of the memory of our great college. Secondly, the activities of the association aim at bringing about regular and considerable progress of the college by providing every possible facility. Thus, the ultimate aim of the association is to gratify the fraternizing feelings of our college life.

Infrastructure


The subordinate parts forming the basis of the Lenco Alumni Association are : The Apex body or the main governing body lies in Ahmedabad. The chapter cities are Rajkot, Surendranagar, Morbi, Surat, Baroda and Jamnagar. Each chapter is formed by the intergration of the activities of various Core-groups of the city.

Activities

The Lenco Alumni Association performs a number of activities for the students every year. These include the establishment of the Gymnasium and Health Club in the college and their maintenance and regular use, and regularly holding the Technical lectures for the students of the college. The association also felicitates the outstanding Lenco members for their various remarkable activities in different engineering fields.

Additionally, the association has proved to be successful in publishing a directory containing the list of the telephone numbers, addresses etc.of about 2500 students of the past 30 years.
